Cepea, 22/07/2025 – The higher exchange rate, which raises import parity, and expectations of a smaller crop supported wheat prices in Rio Grande do Sul and Paraná last week, Cepea surveys show. According to the Center, sellers remain firm, tracking crop development and/or focused on wrapping up planting for the current season. Buyers continue purchasing based on market opportunities, especially seeking the imported product. In São Paulo, on the other hand, there was greater buyer pullback, and as a result, some sellers ended up giving in to buyers' terms, Cepea surveys also show. In the field, planting reached 91% of the area earmarked for wheat cultivation in Brazil, in line with the equivalent period of 2024 and the five-year average. Source: Cepea (www.cepea.esalq.usp.br)
