Cepea, 27/08/2025 – Cepea surveys show coffee prices continue to rally sharply in the domestic market, especially robusta, whose harvest has ended. In the partial figures for August (through the 25th), the CEPEA/ESALQ type 6, screen 13-up index, ex-warehouse in Espírito Santo, had accumulated a striking 43% gain, closing this past Monday, the 25th, at R$ 1.469,43 per 60 kg bag. For arabica, fieldwork is practically complete, and prices are also posting significant gains, according to the Center. In August, the CEPEA/ESALQ type 6, strictly soft to soft, index, delivered in the São Paulo capital, had already risen 26,3%, to R$ 2.287,56/bag on Monday. Researchers explain that the momentum comes mainly from very tight stocks. They note that the end of the harvest revealed processing losses and the limited production volume in Brazil. In addition, U.S. tariffs on Brazilian coffee exports continue to bring volatility to the domestic market, Cepea also notes. Source: Cepea (www.cepea.esalq.usp.br)
