Cepea, 20/01/2025 – Corn prices remain firm in the Brazilian market. Cepea researchers explain that support comes from sellers holding back, estimates of low stocks and strong demand. The need to rebuild stocks kept some buyers active in the domestic spot market over the past week, while producers remained focused on fieldwork. According to Conab data analyzed by Cepea, carryover stocks for the 2023/24 crop, which now ends in January, were estimated at 2,53 million tonnes, well below the 4,42 million tonnes projected in December, reflecting the increase in exports, which were revised up to 38,5 million tonnes.
