Cepea, 12/11/2024 – Domestic wheat prices rebounded over the past week. Cepea researchers explain that support came from gains on the Chicago Board of Trade and reports that the government may issue a tender to purchase the cereal. They also note that domestic price increases occurred even against the backdrop of the Brazilian harvest and heavy imports. In October, 552,4 thousand tonnes of wheat arrived at Brazilian ports, the largest volume for the month in five years. As a result, in the year-to-date through 2024, the total quantity imported reaches 5,7 million tonnes, the highest for the period since 2013. Source: Cepea (www.cepea.esalq.usp.br)
