Cepea, 01/07/2025 – Heavy rains recorded in southern Brazil last week, especially in Rio Grande do Sul, and frosts in areas of the Center-South of the country left wheat growers on alert, Cepea surveys show. According to the Center, on one hand, the colder weather favors crop development, but the heavy rains in RS disrupted fieldwork and even led to losses in some fields, which will need to be replanted. Conab data indicate that, as of June 21, 56,6% of the estimated area had been planted in Brazil. The agency also reported the start of planting in Santa Catarina and of the 2025 harvest in Goiás.
