Cepea, 12/02/2025 – Cotton lint trading is happening only occasionally in the domestic market in this early February period, with market participants facing difficulty agreeing on price and/or the quality of the lots offered. While some buyers offer lower prices for new purchases, others are even paying more to attract sellers. On the external front, Brazilian lint exports started the year at a fast pace, reaching record volumes. According to Secex, 415,6 thousand tonnes of cotton were shipped in January, a record for the month. Over 12 months (from February/24 to January/25), sales exceed 2,9 million tonnes, also a record for that period. Source: Cepea (www.cepea.esalq.usp.br)
